Leong Hup International
Leong Hup International Berhad is one of the largest fully integrated producers of poultry, eggs and livestock feed in Southeast Asia. Currently, Leong Hup International is present in five of the fast-growing economies in the Southeast Asian region: Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines.
Leong Hup International’s Livestock Business is vertically integrated and, in combination with their Feed mill Business, covers the entire egg and poultry value chain.
As the biggest producer of day-old chicks ("DOC") in Malaysia and the top three producers of DOC in Indonesia and Vietnam, Leong Hup International is among the market leaders for prime quality DOC including parent stock ("PS") day-old chicks, broiler day-old chicks and commercial layer day-old chicks. In Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines, Leong Hup produces and distributes broiler chickens for the consumption of the domestic markets. They also export broiler chickens from Malaysia into Singapore. In Malaysia, their table egg production is operated by their subsidiary, Teo Seng Capital Berhad. The slaughtering of poultry and food processing complement Leong Hup's livestock upstream business and adds value to their upstream live chicken production.
"Ayam A1", "SunnyGold", "SAFA", "Ciki Wiki" and "Sobat" are some of the well-known brands that they carry for their food processing products.
Parent Stock/Breeders
Leong Hup's breeder operations starts from their grandparent stock ("GPS") chickens. They purchase 100.0% of their PS Layer DOCs, of the "Hisex" breed, from Institut de Sélection Animale B.V. (Hendrix Genetics, the Netherlands).
Emphasis on quality, farm hygiene good breeding practices and management are the main philosophies of their breeder operations. They supply breeder DOC to their external customers as well as for their internal use. They house a substantial proportion of these breeder DOC in their breeder farms in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines.
Egg Production
Layer chickens are grown in their dedicated layer farms to produce eggs for commercial purposes. In Malaysia, Their table egg production is operated by their subsidiary, Teo Seng Capital Berhad. They produce a range of fresh eggs, including normal Grade A to F eggs as well as premium branded eggs enriched with Omega-3 fatty acid and Lutein. Besides Malaysia, they also produce table eggs in Indonesia and Vietnam where their high quality products are being sold in the domestic markets.
