Customer highlight: Granja Roblealto in Costa Rica

Nestled amidst the verdant landscapes of Costa Rica, Granja Roblealto stands as a beacon of hope, bridging the gap between sustainable agriculture and community development. Established in 1967, Granja Roblealto has its roots in a self-management project aimed at supporting a social program for the well-being of Costa Rican children. The project was initiated by a missionary couple in 1932, who began with a small group of children. Over time, as the project flourished, there arose a need to expand and generate new resources. Granja Roblealto directed its efforts towards providing solutions to the Central American poultry market, focusing on providing top-quality poultry genetics and eggcellent personalized service to its customers.

2022 Logo Roblealto

Drawing inspiration from the majestic oak trees that dot the surrounding landscape, Granja Roblealto embodies strength, resilience, and growth. Just as the oak tree's sturdy branches provide shelter and sustenance, so too does the association strive to nurture and support the children of Costa Rica.

With certifications from governmental entities accrediting them as exporters of day-old chicks in the region, Granja Roblealto has expanded its reach into the Central American countries. Despite its commercial success, Granja Roblealto remains a nonprofit association, with its core mission centered around children and families facing social vulnerability. Presently, over 900 children and their families benefit from their programs, boasting an impressive 95% success rate in their social initiatives.

In the heart of Granja Roblealto's mission lies a simple yet powerful ethos: to leverage the resources generated from poultry and dairy farming to support the holistic development of Costa Rican children. With a focus on education, healthcare, and nutrition, the association channels its efforts towards fostering a brighter future for the younger generation.

One of the cornerstone initiatives of Granja Roblealto is its scholarship program, which provides educational opportunities for socially disadvantaged childrens. Through partnerships with local schools and community organizations, the association identifies deserving students and offers financial assistance to cover school fees, supplies, and other educational expenses. By breaking down barriers to access education, Granja Roblealto empowers children to unlock their full potential and pursue their dreams.

What makes Granja Roblealto unique is not just its commitment to social responsibility, but also its deeply rooted sense of community. The association actively engages with local stakeholders, fostering collaborative relationships built on trust and mutual respect. By working hand-in-hand with farmers, educators, healthcare providers, and community leaders, Granja Roblealto amplifies its impact and creates lasting change that reverberates throughout Costa Rican society. As Granja Roblealto continues to sow the seeds of change, it serves as a shining example of how collective action can create a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

The funds that self-management projects generate, are not enough to face the growing demand of socially disadvantaged children. Find out more about the work of Granja Roblealto and how you can contribute yourself to make the difference.
