Soy eggs
Eggs are among the cheapest and highest valuable animal protein available around the globe. A large variety of delicious food can be made from eggs. Traditionally and currently, there are remarkable eggs dishes in China. Having been working in poultry field for almost 40 years, Mr. Shang Lei has always concentrated on how to produce more eggs for the growing world population, however it is as important to make more eggs “disappear” from this world (being consumed)! Mr. Shang Lei So would like to share a very popular Chinese eggs dish here, Chinese Soy eggs. This egg recipe will likely stimulate your appetite and stimulate egg consumption. Soy eggs are among the most popular snacks in China, which you can eat anytime of the day. And the nice thing, they are simple and convenient to make.
Ingredients
- 6 medium sized eggs
- rock sugar (15 grams)
- marinated egg seasoning ( 1 packet or 10 grams)
- dark soy sauce (20 grams)
- cooking wine (10 grams)
- fish sauce (10 grams)
- licorice (3 grams)
- black tea (5 grams)
- salt (to your liking)
- a drop of chicken essence
Instructions
- Boil the eggs with cold water
- Prepare the seasoning
- Take a 2nd pan, put the appropriate amount of water, the tea and 1 packet of marinated egg seasoning into stockpot
- Add licorice and rock sugar
- Add the soy sauce, the fish sauce and the cooking wine. Place it on a large fire, and let it simmer for 10 minutes
- Take the eggs from the 1st pan, cool them off with cold water and peel off the eggshell
- Make some incisions in the boiled eggs, but make sure you don’t cut them
- Place the eggs in the marinade and boil them for about 15 minutes (the eggs will get their typical coloration)
- Add salt and chicken essence to your liking
- Cover the stockpot, switch off the fire and braise the eggs for a few hours
